| A limited range of
single to ten sack hydraulic refuse compactors, which combine automatic high capacity
refuse compaction with both low capital and low running cost. Introduction
An automatic, hydraulically operated ram compactor using the extrusion principle to
shear, crush and compact most types of refuse and garbage. Operating at pressures around
40,000lbs, the machine compacts refuse down to 15-20% of its original volume; packaging it
directly into heavy gauge plastic sacks which can be separated for easy handling.
Application
Manual, mechanical or refuse chute fed. Designed to compact and package high
volumes of most types of refuse, from most types of location.
Capacity
Under maximum operating conditions the Harpac H100 will disinfect, compact and package
up to 750 KGs per hour of typical domestic refuse.
The compaction chamber has a capacity of 0.20m3 with a
machine cycle time of around 40 seconds giving a theoretical compaction volume of 18m3/hour.
Though the machine rarely hits its full theoretical operating capacity, it does
have sufficient capacity to meet wide load variances.
Operation
A photoelectric beam is broken by the refuse, which commences the machines automatic
cycle. The refuse is disinfected and forced between heavy steel restrictors to
produce compaction. The compacted refuse is then extruded into a continuous plastic
sack up to 5 metres in length. (For ease of handling, sacks are typically made up into
600mm lengths).
Technical Information:
Construction
The main body of the compactor is one rectangular steel tube, made from 10mm thick
plate. The compacting ram is made from 6mm plate with the face of the ram increased
to 25mm plate to effectively handle the 40,000 lbs. of thrust generated by the machine.
Total weight is 700Kg.
Hydraulic Power Pack
A pre-packaged, fully connected, integrally mounted system develops over 3,000 p.s.i.
Normal operating pressure is approximately 1000 p.s.i. Motor 40 second cycle
time 4 kW. 1450rpm T.E.F.C Class F insulation.
Pump Pressure balanced external gear type.
Pump Rate 10-15 litre/min Oil reservoir 30
litres.
Control valves 4 way.
Electrical Controls and Supply
All controls housed in easily accessible keyed cabinet which can be mounted either
side of the machine (or remotely at request).
Supply UK 415 volts, 3 phase 5 wire, 15A, 50Hz. Fused
Isolator.
Export Most voltages and cycles available.
Automatic Disinfectant Spray
A full 2.5 litre container, with a 24V pump, automatically sprays the refuse in the
compaction chamber with disinfectant. Recommended disinfectant-Izal Germicide.
Repeat Hammer Action and Automatic Shut Off
The Harpac H100 features a repeat hammer action designed to move difficult or
uncrushed objects. Should the repeat hammer action not be able to move the object, the
machine will automatically shut-off, and signal this fact. Audible warning
available.
Caretaker Alarm
This machine in common with most compactors requires caretaker attention particularly
in managing the changeover of the full plastic sacks. As an optional extra an alarm
can be fitted which alerts the attendant when the machine requires service.
Operator Safety
All access doors are electrically interlocked, if opened the compactor stops
immediately. There is also an emergency stop switch on the electric control panel.
Fire Safety
The Harpac H100 can have a fire sprinkler built in a safe location within the machine.
Conveyor
A standard length of 1.5 metres is supplied with each H100 as are 10 x 10 No.
continuous plastic sacks. Extensions to conveyors or special conveyors are available
upon request.
